From a desert town called Nambimio, where the dunes meet the sea. Compasses do not work there and it has auroras due to some mysterious magnetic interference.

While sailing on his missionary Kobold galleon Sala'Iman discovered Argot adrift on some flotsam and pulled him aboard. The galleon sailing is a rite of passage for the Kobolds of Nambimio, and are expected to try to convert others before being considered truly a part of The Lost church.

He is Pious and motivated to convert others who have direction or purpose.
